Ahhh...the famous parental command at the dinner table has now become a reality! I had the opportunity to meet Larry Grider, CEO of Engro, at a Tuesday morning small business meeting. Larry's company sells "innovative products that are changing the way we live". The main product that might change the way you live is Ingeo, a fiber developed by Cargill and Dow Chemical, that is made from corn and is one of the most significant developments in the textile industry of our generation.

I'm happy to report that I'm on my third week of running my cell phone
on nothing but solar power. While the overall impact on my carbon
footprint is negligible, it gives me a geeky thrill to know I haven't
plugged the thing into a wall socket since early mid-May. Ditto for my
iPod.
